Last time, I mentioned that there are six forming ways of Chinese character. The most basic one is Pictogram like the characters sun 日, moon 月, river 川, they are all related to nature. It is easy to understand why, for the ancient people drew / wrote what they saw (pictures). The pictures were continuously evolving and in the end they became the present Chinese characters.
光日月明 (Nature – Light, Sun, Moon, Bright)
山川木林 (Nature – Hill, River, Wood, Forest)
金木水火土，五行 (Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, Dust)
天地海湖 (Sky, Earth, Sea, Lake)
石岩峰谷 (Stone, Rock, Summit, Valley)
